Vandersteen M5-HP (XLR) high pass filters - SOLD
« on: 19 Mar 2015, 11:48 pm »
Up for sale are my pair of Vandersteen M5-HP (XLR) high pass filters. Can be used with any Vandersteen speaker that requires a high pass filter, Vandersteen sub, or to high pass any speaker. Note these are the balanced / XLR versions.

These have the current AudioQuest Sky cabling and are perfect working condition. I had Vandersteen install new Lithium batteries and they are good for 10 years (yr 2015).  System reconfiguration renders these unnecessary, hence the sale.  They are stainless steel boxes with a chrome label sticker and difficult to capture in a photo.  The apparent  smudges are just reflections in the background.

$700 obo.

Ppal adds 3%. Shipping by USPS to lower 48 of US included.

Thanks for looking

I'm interested in the M5-HP filter, but I have one question. What is the lowest crossover point listed on the box?
Would you be able to post a picture? Oops two questions.

Hi Robert,

I posted photos below.

The HP filter frequency is fixed at 100Hz.  They have adjustable resistor rocker settings to allow alignment configured to match the input impedance of the amplifier.  The M5-HP will roll off the low frequencies going to the amplifier so that they are -3dB at 100Hz referenced to 1kHz.  You can adjust the resistor setting up, or down an adjustment to find the optimum blending of main speakers to subwoofers.

Thanks
