Took the plunge today
« on: 19 Feb 2015, 12:56 am »
I've been lurking here for quite sometime. Finally decided to do something about it.

I saw Jim had a pair of Songbirds in curly walnut with burst edges available. I'd landed on the Birds a while ago due to size limitations in my existing space. Simply hadn't pulled the trigger as the veneer choices were driving me crazy.. I've always loved walnut, but we have a bunch of elm furniture.. And hickory flooring.

Long story short, got the wife to agree that a different species would be nice if the build quality was good...

A couple of pics from Jim later, and my Birds are being finished up....

Can't wait to see and hear them!

You'll be very happy with them.  I've currently got mine in the 2 channel setup.

Congratulations! I am sure you will enjoy the Songbirds. They are a fantastic bargain and sound pretty much identical to the SongTowers within their volume limits.

Don't forget to post pics when you get them setup.

Hello, Biker.

Thank you for posting. I look forward to the pics once the Birds are ready. I, too, have discovered choosing a veneer can be way more complex than it appears.

Congratulations, I don't there is a better speaker on the market for space challenged audiophiles than the SongBird. I'm sure you're going to love them. A picture of mine in their home:

Thanks for the encouragement!

All of your Songbirds look great!!

 I'm really fortunate in that Jim had a pair of walnut cabinets "just sitting around" waiting for somebody like me.. I stumbled on them in this thread;

So the wait won't be near as long for me :green:

Still be a couple of weeks out until I get them in their new environment... I'll be sure to post pics once they are singing!

Cheers!
