Help with open baffle A370PEQ/subwoofer project
« on: 9 Mar 2015, 03:14 pm »
I have a pair of Rythmik A370PEQ servo amps and DS1200 12" servo subwoofers. I'v e had these in closed boxes that I no longer use and now want to repurpose them in an open baffle configuration where each amp drives a pair of servo drivers (one forward, one backward). To do this I'll need to buy a second pair of 12" servo drivers.

1) Is it ok to drive a pair of servo drivers from a single amp?

2) If so, do you wire them in parallel or in series? Same question regarding the servo feedback connections.

3) I'd like to buy a pair of GRR 12" servo's rather than the Rythmiks. Is this ok to mix drivers? If so, is it ok to mix these (one of each make in each channel) or use both Rythmiks in one channel and both GRR's in the other?

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

You can drive a pair of SW-12-08FR woofers or three SW-12-16FR woofer with that amp. But you will need to send the amp back to Rythmik Audio and have then install the necessary shelving circuit.

The driver coils get wired in parallel and the sensing coils get wired in series. You'll give you a wiring diagram.

No, the drivers you have are not designed for open baffle applications. They are sealed box drivers only. And drivers used in parallel need to be identical.
