I agreed that the overall cool factor of the car would help them in the future, for sure.
But predicting what folks think looks 'worthy' of restoration in 50 years would be near impossible.
Plus, I doubt the designers are too concerned about that. They're more concerned with NOW.

As far as performance, that can also be "enhanced", as they say.

That's entirely true for most "normal" cars, which is why I reserved my statement that the only cars produced now that may become classics are Euro sports cars (ie, Ferrari 458, Bugatti Veyron, etc). The main reason I say that is because design and performance are paramount for these cars, and thus should have the most longevity (as they pretty much always have).

Oh, well yea.... When you said Euro cars, I thought you meant the run of the mill BMW, Benz, Audi, etc..etc...
Yes, top tear cars like a Veyron will most certainly 'live on", no doubt.

I actually said "European sports cars" specifically, but it's cool. It's easy to miss little details in casual thread chats. I probably should've gone a step further and said "super cars" but felt this might leave out some of the more attainable sports cars that could become classics like the Porsche Cayman. :thumb:
