Audio Fidelity - Alice Cooper in particular
« on: 25 Dec 2014, 08:49 pm »
Hi,
I have been scarfing up Mobile Fidelity discs lately, preferring releases by them to all all others nearly every time.
What about Audio Fidelity? Just as good?
I'm considering purchasing a pair of used Alice Cooper CDs (Love it to Death, Killer) on Audio Fidelity - since OOP are very expensive and I am not a favored son of Donald Trump.
Thanks!

I have Love it to Death on Audio Fidelity.  Have it since it first came out so I have not listened in quite awhile (I also do file playback so I rarely play a disc) and the only other thing I had by Alice Cooper was their Greatest Hits.  I have a bunch of Audio Fidelity Hybrid SACDs (just got Timepieces, Clapton's Greatest).  They go back to the master tapes and the quality is limited by that.  I just listened to Timepieces and while it sounds better than the plain out original CD, some tracks are much better than others.  James Taylor's Sweet Baby James sounds really good on Audio Fidelity and I should have bought Killer but for some reason never got around to it before it went out of print.
