Hey guys, I noticed Ryan now has speakers at a local dealer. Thought you might wanna know, if you're close by and want to check 'em out.
Here's a quote from his post:

Just a note to anyone in the area, the Tuonare is available for listening at The Sound Room on Clarkson Rd in Chesterfield, MO.  Swing by, give them some time, and let us know your thoughts.

That's some good exposure. Ryan is making a pair of speakers for one of my friends down here. I'm looking forward to hearing them once they are done. My friend also uses GIK panels in his room , gets them from Bryan. Now all I need to do is get him to buy some conditioning from Chris Hoff.

Chris is indeed a wonderful human being, I'm proud to call him a friend (although I haven't seen him in a couple years).

Kent, I think they're 75% off for GAS members.
I could be wrong.

Great success story!

That is saying a lot. Most brick and mortar dealers will not put a product in their showroom unless they have at least one or two 5 star reviews of the product in their hands. :thumb:

Stopped by to have a look yesterday.  Nice stuff in the store but no offer to audition those speakers (really not much attention was paid).  They were not hooked up and the man behind the counter said - yup someone just dropped those off recently.  I don't plan to return.  Most of my retail purchases follow getting excited about a product following a lengthy audition from knowledgeable staff.

TRLoh, this probably is the first week these speakers have been at the store, and they have yet to be hooked up, as you noted. Their builder, and the man with the plan for these speakers who knows absolutely everything about them, lives about 15 miles south of that store. If you want a lengthy audition while conversing with Ryan, I'm sure that can be arranged in a couple of emails and phone calls.

Don't confuse a client store's slow start with Ryan's dedication to make some great speakers....

But yet Pete Schumacher from Vapor Audio was in the day before and they were playing! Are they renting space?

I think a lot depends on which salesman greeted you. Having worked there in the past, I can tell you that there are some salesmen who's main focus is selling large integration projects while there are others who are more likely to entertain doing a 2 channel audition.
Please also remember that salesmen make most of their earnings by selling, not by spending valuable time with people who have no intention of buying anything. That does not however excuse the lack of enthusiasm showed by the salesman.

Agree, and if it is a new speaker, not all salespeople will have familiar with it yet. Still, not ever good to get that sort of response. But I'd give the store and Vapor another chance. Maybe call ahead and let them know you'd like to hear the Vapors?

Congrats to Ryan and the rest of the Vapor crew!

If we were renting space, don't you think they'd be always hooked up and playing?

The picture Ryan posted above was from the first day.

I went the next day and they were hooked up in a different room with different gear.

What they did after that I have no idea.  All I did was ask to hear them and they powered up the receiver, turned on the CD player, queued up a disk they had and I sat back and enjoyed about 8 tracks before leaving.

I have no doubt that a simple, "I heard you have a pair of Vapor Audio speakers here.  Mind if I have a listen?" will get you an audition with them alone in the room.
