FS: Bricasti M1 DAC
« on: 24 Oct 2014, 04:26 pm »
One of the best DACs I've heard. Killer sound at a "bargain" of a price. Check out the various reviews, which are very positive. Had this DAC in my second system and no longer need. Will be sad to see it go.

MSRP for one of these is $9K or so new with all the upgrades (which this unit has). Condition is like-new, have only had for a few months. Has about 300 hours of burn-in. Will include all that was sent from the factory.

Rather new member here, but plenty of presence via AGon and Head-Fi. If more feedback is needed, let me know and I will be happy to provide some. Shipping should be reasonable within the CONUS. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Add 3.5% for PayPal fees or gift. Will accept money order or check as well. Price is semi-firm - $5950

Do you have the remote control option?  DO you have the USB option?  It plays DSD?

Have you run this as a preamp as well?

Yep, this unit has all upgrades including remote, DSD, PSU, and filters. This DAC can play DSD with the upgrade (which it has). Unfortunately, I don't believe this DAC can run as a pre-amp.

Thanks

Just a clarification for those interested, there have been two factory updates supporting DSD playback. The first added DSD64 support and the new filter choices. The second update recently added DSD128 and PCM support up to 384 kHz which includes DXD support. It required installation of an entirely new DSP board as well as OCC wiring upgrades along with fuse bypasses. This latest upgrade can be verified by the version of the software being v1.21 or higher. The M1 DAC has had a volume control capability since many revisions ago which does allow it to function as a preamp. Bricasti has been demoing it in this configuration directly driving their new power amps for the last few shows.
