As mentioned above, it is probably not a good idea to try and drive a power amp from the audio output of a typical phono preamplifier with just a passive volume control after the phono stage. Likely you won't have enough gain and the phono stage likely will interact with the load with unanticipated results.
We can build our Vision adjustable phono preamp with a high quality volume control and gain of 5 line buffer (or gain of 10 if needed) that will drive any power amp satisfactorily. It would cost about $200 extra.
