SOLD: Modwright SWL 9.0SE Line Stage / Pre-Amp
« on: 5 Oct 2014, 07:35 pm »
I'm selling my Modwright SWL 9.0SE after having recently acquired an LS-100.

This SWL 9.0SE was originally sold as an SWL 9.0 (non-SE) and was later sent back to Dan Wright for upgrade to SE status (don't recall the cost for that upgrade) and the tube-rectified power supply (a $500 upgrade).  The capacitors are Sonicaps.

I've installed a fresh pair of NOS Tung-Sol 5687s and will include a Mullard GZ34 rectifier. I can offer without the Mullard GZ34 if you'd prefer to use your own GZ34/5AR4.

Also included is the remote control, the original printed manual, and a basic power cable.  The remote control is an upgrade from the original "universal" remote that was shipped with the 9.0SE, and is the same RC that is shipped with the LS-100.  As such it does have extra buttons that won't do anything with the SWL 9.0SE; the mute and volume buttons do function with the 9.0 SE (same as the stock remote control).

$1300 + shipping. !SOLD!

Yes -- the SWL 9.0SE has a home theater bypass function.  It does require that the unit be turned on for the bypass to function; this seems to be true for most tubed pre-amps.
