I bought a McIntosh MC2100 with a C26 preamp with my first paycheck in 1975. Just recently I had some capacitors changed. First serious repair in almost 40 years. I would not trade it for anything in the audio community. I have had other amps but none I liked more. I liked it so much I bought an MC7300 and it is my second favorite. They are perfect for horn speakers. Some pieces have a certain synergy to them. I chose McIntosh over Krell, Marantz, Perreaux and others. I do have some special feelings for vintage tube offerings from Scott, Fisher, and Grommes. I think that anyone that has not heard McIntosh gear owes it to themselves to try it.
