4 GROUPS OF 2A3 VACUUM TUBES (11 TOTAL) – SELL/TRADE

I have assembled a few 2A3s that I do not need, so I have split them up into four groups (by common internal structure) as detailed and priced below.

I will sell all eleven tubes as a group for 10% off the individual group prices (cash basis).  Offers may be considered if they do not sell, but most likely in that case they will end up on the infamous auction site.  I will not split the individual groups.

Trade is also possible.  While there is not too much that I need, I might be interested in certain vacuum tubes (46, new production 300b, new production 45, KT90, vintage 5AR4/GZ34, Euro 6J5G/CV1067/L63, GEC 807, a larger group of tubes, or other tubes at the right value), or possibly equipment (like a DEQX or TACT room-correcting unit, or a small 6V6 or EL84 amp).  If need be, I have other tubes (including some individual 2A3) and equipment that I can bring into any trade talks.

All tubes were tested for Gm and current draw on my Westmore 501 (gov’t version of Triplett 3444).

On the Westmore, the Gm reject point is 2600 and average new is 5200.

While there is no Westmore spec for plate current, the settings on the Westmore indicate that the test parameters are 250 V plate and -40V grid bias. The Class A plate current spec at 250 V plate and -45 V grid bias is 60 mA.

All tubes were clean for shorts/leakage/gas unless noted.

These tubes are in the condition as acquired, and may be dirty or have tape or other residue on the base or glass.

While a couple of these tubes may be NOS (“NEW” old stock), all should be considered “USED” for the purposes of this listing.

Group 1 - $300

The first group has three tubes that I believe are all Sylvania made.  The common internal structure has black dual connected plates, a single internal support and a foil getter support with a center dimple.

Tube #1-1 is branded National Union, has a date code of 5052, and comes with what appears to be an original box.  The tube tested at a Gm of 4800 with a current draw of 71 mA.

Tube #1-2 is branded Zenith, has a date code of M1R and has tape residue on the base.  The tube tested at a Gm of 5000 with a current draw of 70 mA.

Tube #1-3 is Sylvania branded with tape residue on the base that covers the date code.  The tube tested at a Gm of 4000 with a current draw of 54 mA.

Group 2 - $225

The second group has three tubes that I believe are all RCA made (the two Admiral tubes have a 274 code).  The common internal structure has black dual connected plates, a large D getter support and two wires above the mica that look like they connect the filaments.

Tube #2-1 is branded General Electric, has a date code of 713 and has tape residue on the base.  The tube tested at a Gm of 5000 with a current draw of 69 mA.

Tube #2-2 is branded Admiral and has a date code of L5.  The tube tested at a Gm of 4500 with a current draw of 64 mA.

Tube #2-3 is branded also Admiral and has a date code of 609.  The tube tested at a Gm of 4200 with a current draw of 59 mA.

Group 3 - $170

The third group has two Hytron branded tubes that I believe are RCA made.  The common internal structure is similar to the Group 2 tubes, except that there are two D-getter supports.

Tube #3-1 has a date code of 5435, and tested at a Gm of 5350 with a current draw of 63 mA.

Tube #3-2 has a date code of 5443 and tested at a Gm of 4900 with a current draw of 59 mA.

Group 4 - $270

The fourth group has three tubes that I believe are all RCA made   The common internal structure is similar to the Group 2 tubes (single D getter structure), except that there are no wires above the mica that look like they connect the filaments.

Tube #4-1 is branded Sylvania, has a date code of 926 and comes with what appears to be an original box (in poor shape).  The tube tested at a Gm of 5000 with a current draw of 57 mA.

Tube #4-2 is branded Raytheon, has a date code of A2, and has tape and other reside on the base.  The tube tested at a Gm of 5100 with a current draw of 64 mA.  Note that this tube did have a very slight reaction on the gas test, and did have a slight blue glow above the mica during the test so should be considered very mildly gassy.

Tube #4-3 is also branded Raytheon, has a date code of A3, and has tape and other reside on the base.  The tube tested at a Gm of 5100 with a current draw of 56 mA.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS – PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE TUBES ARE BEING SOLD “AS IS, WHERE IS”.

ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

I ONLY describe what I know about the tube, and what I have tested for.  Although my tube testers tend to be reliable, YOUR TUBE TESTER MAY GIVE A DIFFERENT RESULT THAN MINE, so please take that into account. In the event of a tube tester conflict, MY TUBE TESTER CONTROLS.

If the information is not there, DO NOT ASSUME, and do not rely on any of YOUR assumptions. If you need more information than provided in the listing, ASK IN ADVANCE. If I happen to have the information, I will provide it. If I can get the information in a reasonable way, I will get it. If I do not call a tube NOS, consider that tube USED. I do the best I can with very limited time and capabilities. I am an honest seller, but I am NOT a tube professional, and I am NOT in the tube business.

AS SUCH, PLEASE NOTE THAT I CANNOT GUARANTEE (OR EVEN REMOTELY PREDICT) HOW THESE TUBES WILL SOUND OR PERFORM IN YOUR EQUIPMENT. THE TEST RESULTS ARE ONLY PROVIDED AS AN INDICATION OF TUBE PERFORMANCE IN A VERY LIMITED (AND NON-IDEAL) ENVIRONMENT. EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY INDICATED IN THIS LISTING, I DISCLAIM ANY AND ALL REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES AND LIABILITY WITH RESPECT TO THESE TUBES, OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR USE OF THEM.
