Power Surge turning off amp
« on: 17 Jul 2014, 03:28 am »
On several occasions a power surge has turned off my 4B SST that I leave on 24/7.  It always fires right up and seems no worse for wear.  Is the amp shutting off normal and/or is their cumulative damage?  I have a TSC surge protector that I plug the other gear into but the sound seems to be a little better if the amp is just plugged into the wall.  Nothing in the house is ever fried from the surges and we pretty much just have to reset the digital clocks.  We might get a half dozen a year and the amp might get shut down once.

Oddly last night the ARCAM amp I use for surround sound was turned off and the surge turned it on.

Thanks for any thoughts.
