Consonance J400 Push-Pull 300B Integrated Tube Amplifier Sell/Trade

SOLD cash basis. I will consider trade (see below). Right now price is firm, but I may consider something less depending on the circumstances (also see below).

I STRONGLY PREFER LOCAL TRANSACTION (Chadds Ford, PA), but I will consider shipping.

I have too many amps at the moment (including a different 300B PP amp), so I have decided to test the market with this amp.

There is not too much information on this amp but, as best as I can tell, it is about 18 w/ch into 8 ohms.  Tube compliment is 4 X 300B, 2 X 12BH7 and 3 X 6DJ8/6922.  There is a volume control (manual), 3 inputs (but no phono), and 4/8 ohm speaker posts.

In addition to the sound, one very nice feature of this amp is that there is a bias control for each of the 300B tubes, meaning that perfectly matched pairs are not needed.

The 300Bs in the amp are Chinese and still test close to spec (and are decently matched for current draw).  Because the amp supposedly only puts out about 18 w/ch (typical for a 300B PP is 25w/ch), that would mean that the 300Bs are driven very mildly and should last a very long time.

It also appears to have a delay circuit built in so that the tube heaters warm up prior to application of B+ (which I understand helps to extend tube life).

I have a variety of 12BH7 and 6DJ8/6922 input types to choose from, and will include two different input sets at my asking price, including an Amperex 7308 as the center 6DJ8 type (but only one set of my choice at less than the asking price – will still be good quality).

To clarify, only the current set of 300Bs will be provided (no extra or different ones).

I am not the first owner of this amp, and do not know its history.

Physically the amp is in good shape with no major flaws.  I have looked under the hood, and there is no apparent damage or modification of any type (appears all original and in good shape).

This amp would easily rate a 6 on the Audiogon grading scale.

The amp functions nicely, is stable and sounds great.

The amp is heavy and built like a tank.  I do have a shipping box, but would feel much better with a local transaction.

It is unlikely that you will find another amp like this at this price point.

I can provide additional pictures or info on request.

GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Please note that this amp is being sold ‘AS IS’.

I am willing to demo, which I would recommend prior to purchase.

I can take trade value, although I would like to get some cash. While my actual needs are very few, feel free to propose something, and I will respond to any serious proposal.

My main interest at present is a room correcting-preamp (such as a TACT or DEQX unit).  I have other pieces and tubes if extra trade value is needed to get one of these.

I might be interested in certain vacuum tubes (45, 46, 2A3, 300b, KT90, a larger group of tubes, or other tubes at the right value), or possibly other equipment or cables at the right value.

If I ship, it will only be to the USA. Shipping will be via FedEx Ground (unless other arrangements are made), and the buyer will be responsible for all shipping charges. Packing will likely be in two boxes - one for the amp and one for the tubes (which can be shipped Priority Mail).

Cash is always welcome for a local transaction. Payment can also be via money order/cashier’s check/personal check preferred but, except for US Postal Money Orders, all must clear my bank first.

I also accept Paypal for convenience, but add 3% to use Paypal. IF YOU PAY VIA PAYPAL, HOWEVER, A CONDITION OF YOUR PAYMENT IS THAT YOU EXPRESSLY WAIVE THE RIGHT TO FILE A PAYPAL CLAIM OR CHARGE BACK (but do retain the right to sue me in court should you so desire).

Please check my feedback on Audiogon and Ebay (ID=baileyler) and buy with confidence.
