The floor dimensions are 17'7" wide and my seat is 13' from the front wall.  Since this is a dedicated area I can place the speakers anywhere.  Before I try an OB I'd like some opinion on whether or not it would be a futile effort.

I'm thinking an 8" driver like a Betsy or maybe an Audio Nirvana.  I'd like a single flat panel (no wings) and I would most likely leave room in the baffle for a 15" bass speaker near the floor for future experimentation.

I like the look of these Spatial speakers and I'm not opposed to going with a larger driver but I'm trying to keep the budget a little lower on this project.

If you could resize those to say 800 wide max your post would be readable.

You could still make them smaller.

It would work, depends on how far you are willing to change your listening distance. Sounds like you can.
