SOLD : With reluctance I'm selling this amplifier which I bought from an estate sale thinking i could use it as a mono block to pair with my current MV75A1 (there is a switch for mono / stereo). On receiving it I had it checked out by a tube amp expert who carefully brought it up on a variac and discovered that one of the output transformers was bad. I believe the others are good, but I'm not making any guarantees. All of which is a shame because it for all other intents and purposes appears to be in beautiful condition inside and out with a very clean interior and only some minor scratches on the top of the optional and rare cage. The front faceplate (also optional and rare) is pretty much mint that I can tell. Furthermore the previous owner seemed to have cared for it because it has what appears to be upgraded Cardas RCA plugs and an upgraded oversized captive Cardas power cord (about 2M long).
I simply don't have the technical expertise nor time / patience to research much further about repairing or modifying it. I will include the bad transformer which has been removed. It came to me in a box with a special custom molded foam insert to further protect, and therefore should arrive to you in the same condition I received it. Shipping via Fedex ground / home delivery within the USA preferred, but UPS / USPS also available. Shipping weight is approximately 50lbs.
I prefer Paypal and free if paid via the "friends / family" option which doesn't charge commission.
It did not come to me with tubes, and therefore is sold without any.
Hopefully someone out there would like this and can bring it back to life. Or in the worst case, use it as a donor for other amps or projects. I'm tempted to take an output transformer from my current MV51A1 and use this one, as it's otherwise so nice. I love the sound of mine.
