PrimaLuna Prologue Premium tube preamplifier, looks and sounds great.
I’m the original owner, purchased this preamp in Sept. 2013 as a static display demo from an authorized dealer. I’ve used it with both tube and solid state amps, and it brings transparency, warmth, and a you-are-there sense of presence to the music. The preamp has received little use in the past six months or so as I have become absorbed in headphone listening. Tubes should have plenty of life left in them.
Electronically in excellent condition. Cosmetically very good or better. There’s a tiny light mark on the side of the transformer cover, and a pinprick on the top edge of the faceplate – both were there when I received the preamp. I have kept it clean and covered when not in use. See the photos. Always used in a non-smoking household.
Tube rectified, dual mono design, with “SmartGain” circuit for remarkably quiet background. Built like a tank—weighs in at almost 40 pounds!
