Audio Furniture - But Not Traditional Racks
« on: 28 Mar 2014, 12:45 pm »
Ive been meaning to start a thread on this topic for a long time but have not been able to figure out which circle.  So Im posting here, moderator feel free to move it.

Anyway i thought it would be a good idea for folks to show some of the ways they have integrated their audio equipment into the room but NOT USING traditional racks.  Heres one to get things started

I would love to have a setup that looks better than my current one.  I have (up to now) been focused on better sound, but now I'd like it to look good too.  I've always been concerned about grouping components together where the noise from one can infect the other.  In the above rack, for example, I would never put a turntable (or a CD player for that matter) on the same rack as a component with a big transformer.  I can really here the difference.  But that photo sure looks nice, very clean.

I've been thinking about making something with that 80/20 stuff, but it looks like a bit of a project.

I use a $30 Ikea nightstand (that is a similar size/configuration to the stand shown on the Kanso home page).

Found lots of exotic stands out there, particularly from Europe when I was interested years back.

Beautiful stuff for sure, finely crafted. I priced the TT wall shelf at RMAF ~$4k.
