iNUKE1000DSP

Anybody have experience with the Behringer NU1000 iNuke  1000-Watt Power Amplifier with DSP for use in an "audiophile approved " system. I'm considering using one for midwoofer (AE TD15M) duties. It's definitely is a lot of cheap watts ($149) for the dollar. It does have a fan but that can be disconnected or replaced with a silent one. I doubt that I'd ever press the unit enough to activate the fan. It seems like there are a lot of cheap digital amps today some with a lot of SQ for the dollar.

I'm looking at these for sub duties. Although the $150 model doesn't have the DSP.

Here is the DSP capable model for $50 more.

It certainly appears from the Behringer website that the NU1000DSP has DSP that includes delay. This means that it could be perfect for controlling bass room modes by operating a rear sub out of phase with the front channels and using the correct amount of delay to the rear sub to cancel out the bass wave from the front just before it hits the rear wall.
Very cool product at an incredible price if it can be used this way.

We used on recently in a way that turned our Sundog model into a 3-way speaker.  The Sundog had a band-pass network installed on the woofer, cutting it off around 250-300hz.  Then the stand had an 8" Wavecor woofer in it powered by the iNuke DSP amp, and running up to 250-300hz.  In that application I didn't feel as though the iNuke was limiting performance, overall impression was very positive.

I'd like to use the iNUKE up to 600>700hz where it would actively cross to tube monoblocks. Do you think that would work well?
A headache for my setup would be the lack of RCA inputs and I'd have to change my speaker cable connectors.
It might be easier to spend some more bucks  and go with one of the classdaudio offerings such as the CDA254. I wouldn't get the built-in DSP :( , the extra power and I'd have to assemble the kit. OTOH I wouldn't have to cover all those blinking blue lights. :D

Up to 6-700hz I'm less sure of, that's the heart of most instruments and vocals.  They're inexpensive enough to try and decide for yourself.  I imagine it will perform well, but "well enough" is the question.  IMO the DSP is the reason to consider them, without it and it's just another of many options for cheap power.

Thanks for the reply.
I was thinking that the inuke would be a temporary solution until I get the money for a higher quality unit. I could then use it for a sub amp. I certainly don't want to mess up the midrange. I suspect the classdaudio amps would have higher SQ and the N core modules another step up.
