Need a cheap phono preamp
« on: 15 Sep 2014, 05:34 am »
I've set up a nice little system for my teenager. A modified Trends audio class D amplifier, a pair of Omega Super3r speakers, a velodyne minivee subwoofer, a technics sl5 linear tracking turntable. While she mostly streams from her iPhone, she wants to listen to records.  Can anyone recommend a decent low cost mm phono pre?  I'd like to spend around $50 new or used, but would spend more if needed.  I'm not a DIY guy. Thanks.

Hi Peter,
go to Needle Doctor's website,
http://www.needledoctor.com/Online-Store/Budget-Phono-Preamps
they have a good choice of phono stage in your price range.
After you have choosing a brand and model,
go to Amazon to see if you can get it at cheaper price.
There is also Crutchfield that have a good choice,
but not sure if they have something in the price range you want to pay.
