Best souding Zeppelin I vinyl for sub $100?
« on: 26 Feb 2014, 07:23 pm »
Looking for Zeppelin I original from '69 but want to get the best sounding release.

I would love to find one EX or better for under $100

Thoughts?

I would check out Steve Hoffman music forums for info on the "best" release then to Discogs to search for the vinyl.
Usually the early stampings of the first release are considered the "best" and cost the most.

I have a SD 8216 and a SD 19126 and for sure the  8216 sounds way better , its going to be a hard find in EX condition for 100.00  best of luck

I think the best sounding is the Classic Records release, but checking eBay they are all more than $100.00.

Keep looking and you will luck into one. Check every copy in every record store you see and one day you'll find a cheapie that slipped through the cracks of scrutinization. Roscoe and I both found our good copies of LZII that way.

Exactly. And thrift shops. I found a EX SD 8216 2 weeks ago in little thrift shop I stopped into and the guy wanted $3 for it. The cover had a little moisture/mold damage on the bottom, but the vinyl was untouched - one very faint 2 inch hairline on Side B.
