Use phono or XLR input with Pro Equipment?
« on: 19 Oct 2004, 02:33 pm »
When I got my K2 I also got a phono to rca cable (pro equipment).  Would it be better to use the XLR input with an XLR/RCA adoptor and AQ Jaguar IC(spare)?   Or does it matter at all since K2 is only driving a subwoofer?

I use xlr adapters with my K2/Behringer Feedback Destroyer and it works fine.  Since my receiver doesn't have balanced outputs, I have no way of knowing if it is degrading the sound in any capacity.

If either piece of equipment is single-ended (RCA), or if either end of a cable is RCA, then the whole chain is SE, so there is no performance reason to choose an XLR cable and then use an adapter.
