I am looking at these two options and they both cost about exactly the same, are the same height (stacked) - I need to be under 8" to fit into their intended home.

Bryston is way more power output (500wpc into 4ohm vs Mac's 200) and none of the additional features of the Mac (I already have the bryston dac and digital player front end) and don't need a MM/MC stage.

Have people heard the two? How does the BP6 sound?

Driving Bryston Mini t speaker (86db - 4ohm)
Thanks for any input!!!

Hi Matt,

How much clearance do you have outside of the 8" you have allotted for the height of the amp/preamp/integrated?  I have a pair of 7B SST2's each of which is identical in exterior dimensions and heat sink configuration to the 4B.  First, I would not stack anything on the 7B's and have given them each 6-8" of breathing room under the shelf above.  The amps do not run super hot but they can generate a fair amount of heat during challenging material and or continuous loads under 3 or so ohms.  Same could be true with the Mac integrated but I don't have any experience with it to say for sure.  Poor heat dissipation will shorten the life of any component.

All that being said, I love the 7B's and the 4B is cut from the same cloth.  Hope you can find a way to squeeze it in  :thumb:
