Kiss doesn't belong in my HoF. and that's the only one that counts. These acts, all nominated, should have gotten in long before Kiss. The Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Deep Purple, The Meters, and Yes.

The RRHOF is a joke IMHO. As Howard Stern likes to say, "It's the Hard Rock Cafe without the burgers". Among the inductees that make it impossible for me to take seriously are: Abba; (Not Rock & Roll, hereafter NR&R); Herb Alpert (NR&R); Chet Atkins (NR&R (Country)); Bobby Bland (NR&R)(Blues); Bob Wills (NR&R/Country); Miles Davis (WTF?They must be counting that Fuzak crap late in his life); Aretha Franklin (NR&R/R&B); Etta James (NR&R/Blues); Madonna (I don't know what her stuff is called  but I don't consider it rock by a long shot, plus I just can't stand her in general); Donna Summer (Yes, the disco queen, when did she ever do anything that could remotely be considered rock and roll). Kiss was just an average band (by their own admission) with a good marketing gimmick IMHO.

[end rant]

Hall and Oates had far more hits than KISS.  What should the criteria be for inductance into the HoF?

I hadn't considered "Hits". I've just never considered Hall and Oates 'Rock and Roll'. KISS has sold over 100 million albums. I don't think the Hall and Oates crowd is buying KISS albums.

Blue Oyster Cult should also be in well before Hall and Oates. Along with Bachman Turner Overdrive, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.... the list just goes on and on.

In my mind, anyway.  :D

Have fun,

Jerry
