Yeah, I owned one. Wish I still had it.

It's on the list of gear I regret selling.

Awaiting Noel Lee's lawsuit to the seller  :icon_twisted:

Awaiting what, are you his lawyer?  I don't know anything about it and I don't see what it would have to do with the sale of a used 30 year old cart.

Seller has 100% positive feedback, the price is lower than usual and it's an extraordinary cart.  It's not lush or romantic, it's about the closest thing to neutral and resolving one could hope for at any price let alone $400.

Is Noel Lee a billionaire yet?  I read something about selling off controlling interest in Beats headphones.  What's the lawsuit about, trying to extract the last drop of blood from a failing retailer?

I think you missed his sarcasm font.
Also, Beats used Monster as their b!tch.

Sarcasm font?  I take it there is no lawsuit against the seller.   I always disliked Monster Cable and thought it a shame that Nakatsuka allowed them to distribute his carts.  Somebody more like Sumiko would have been much better for the brand.

I really don't care about Monster, Beats, or Noel Lee and I've already wasted enough time on this bullshit so I'm not inclined to read the inside story.

Nakatsuka designed the old Accuphase carts, then these.  Now his own brand is ZYX.  He's one of the most respected designers in the business, much too good for the likes of Lee, IMO.

I had brunch in Burlingame CA a few years back and saw this weird old Asian dude on a segway with his female friend in the same restaurant with us.  Now I know that guy is Noel Lee.  Funny stuff.

I am amazed how Monster could be so easily out lawyered.  I was always under the impression that Monster was always about litigation first and sound quality (far far) second.

Neo, it's not about the seller at all.  Or the cart.

It's about the lawsuit-happy bully getting his butt handed to him.

THIS.
It is funny how so many audio 'geniuses' fail at real business decisions. Plenty of audio companies with great products just fail due to financial idiocy.
I guess Monster's lawsuits were a bad decision by guys who could not realize the disasterous ground swell of hatred. I also will no longer buy ANYTHING by Monster. And I had stuff by them in the past. Not anymore.

Relax, it's a joke about Monster Cable suing anyone with the word "Monster" in the company name... like suing a miniature golf place.

Looking at the photo, it's a black series 2 from the '90s.  The price was $1K not $800.  The pins in the back look bran new.  Maybe condition is as advertised.  There was one more expensive model, the 2000.  It was identical except it had gold coils.  The 2000 had a smoother, slightly more lush sound - nice for classical.  The 1000 is faster and more accurate IMO.

The boron tube cantilever can't be replaced with the same thing.  No one makes them any more.  It's much more advanced than the rod cantilevers used today.

Just a heads up for anyone who might be interested.  They don't make em like that anymore.
