anyone watch this first episode of Downton Abbey Season 4 on Comcast cable or another provider ?

I have a 5.1 setup and during this broadcast of DA, the audio appeared to be output in All Speakers mode, so normal center channel dialog was also coming from the fronts and surrounds similar to the simulated Multi Channel mode on my Denon AVR-4306. Though, the left to right channel sound pans were accurate. Maybe DA always has always had the audio mix like this, and this weird mix was very noticeable as I had just watched a bunch of DVDs and BluRays in the last couple days, where standard DTS 5.1 was produced correctly on my system (eg. last night was Bourne Legacy BR) Then right after DA, I checked another broadcast movie (Superbad) on Comcast and the sound was as expected (nearly all dialog coming from center speaker)

Is this just a dumbing down of the audio mix to compensate for the poor sound from built in speaker configurations of various new TV?

hmm? no biggie, just wondering. I don't have any local friends with surround setup to ask how it sounded to them.

Nevermind!
An early-morning-I-can't-sleep-google led me the fact that the show is produced in DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 format. My receiver decided to translate it to multi channel surround.
