Looking for external 12v trigger
« on: 17 Dec 2013, 02:40 pm »
Hello everyone I am not sure if this has been posted here to not and if so I apologize for repeating it.  I am looking for, I think, a 12v trigger that I can use to have my synergy amp turn on when I turn on my marantz av7701.  If something like this exists and if anyone has any input I would greatly appreciate it,  thank you

I have been told that there are some 120V AC power terminal strips that can be activated by a 12V trigger.  Plugging the amp into one of these should do the job for you, assuming a 15 amp rating on the AC outlet strip.

While maybe not the best arrangement, if the Receiver has a switched out let you could use that. Or, while it does add an extra piece of gear, it's small, relatively inexpensive, and works well for infra-red. I've been using one with two of the plug-ins for a couple of years now (not on my stereo equipment) without incident.  I picked them up at Fred M. You can also add up to 8 different outlets for 1 remote unit.

Something to think about anyway.
