Both my girls love the Marvel movies.

We will no doubt see this one, but I'd like to know in advance if there is anything spooky in it, to either prepare them (and see it in the theatre) or decide to wait and watch it at home under more controlled circumstances.

They enjoyed Thor, The Avengers, Iron Man 1-3, Captain America - so as long as it follows the general format of those, they will be OK.

How old are your "girls"?   For me, there's too much violence in the Avengers and Iron Man 1 (haven't seen the others) for my girls, but mine are young.

I was a big Thor fan back in the day, but I'm sure they'll screw it up as they have all the superhero movies I've seen.

My girls are 8 and 10 (well she will be next month).

I am slowly introducing more complex movies to them.  Their male cousins watch all the superhero ones, so that sparked their interest.

I actually watched Oblivion with them last week, and they were very intrigued by it.  They were Googling up a storm once I mentioned that cloning sheep was possible, it took them no time at all to uncover the Dolly story years ago etc.

Now, they will watch those movies I mentioned, but sometimes (first viewing in particular) they will get spooked by some scenes.  In The Avengers, the first time that Loki was talking to the Chitauri, they were pretty put off.  But, during subsequent scenes, they knew what to expect and were fine.

They loved the first Thor too, so I suspect this one will fall into the "let's watch it at home on a movie night" category.

Anyone stoked for Thor: The Dark World?

No.

 Not stoked as I already saw it. Was well entertained by it. Glad it had the same feel to it that the first one did.

Long time? Just because my last real post around here was in December of 2007?...

Well after I lost my job & house in the same week nearly 6 1/2 years ago my system got boxed up. And it stayed boxed up for almost 2 years as I recall. Got mostly setup at the last place I was at. Haven't really set it up at the place I moved into about 5 months ago.

So I've not had the full glory of my system in over 6 1/2 years. Add that to being decently injured at work 5 years ago by someone else which has brought on some pretty damn serious depression. And that's kept me from enjoying movies like I used to.

I still go out and watch stuff, just not the 4-5 movies a week like I had been. I still buy new movies on disc, but usually don't ever even open them.

So, between my system not being in use or really upgraded at all in over 6 years I kinda fell out of touch with what this place has become. Seems kinda odd remembering the first few hours of this site back almost 11 years ago, being like the 8th or so guy to sign up here like an hour or two after John put it up. To now seeing that there's over 40k registered users. A seriously huge amount of new circles. And seeing a list of all the people that have passed away was a little bit of a shock. Then I go try to see what Wayne is up too, and see he's kinda retired now.

So much different now...

After not stopping in here much I started spending my time on BMW forums as my nice BMW has seen most of my disposable income over the last 7 years. Have a second one now. But it got to the point where there wasn't much else to find for the car. So decided to get back into some of the older gaming consoles I used to be into when I was a kid. Mostly gotten back into the Neo Geo. And everyone I know is telling me I'm crazy to spend that kinda $ on a 23 year old game system.

So Rob, how 'ya been?

Well, you can tell by my post count that my contribution here has dropped off, too.  I went back to school almost five years ago, so FT school and FT work for me.  Getting close to getting my degree now.  I haven't bought a major component for audio or video in maybe seven years.  I got to the point where I was pretty happy with my gear, and then moved around a little and didn't have a lot of time for audio with school.  Plus, all of my disposable income lately has been going to HK firearms. :thumb:

Great to see you back around again, Brian!  I'd been wondering where you went! :thumb:

BTW, probably gonna see another movie tonite.  I don't have a TV at this moment, and my CRT projector is in storage.  So I generally hit the theater once a week at least.
