Burson HD opamps?

Does any one have any experience with the Burson HDAM-

I was considering trying these in place of my 0627's in my DAC.  Are they worth the trouble?  It is hard to find much info on them which leads me to believe that they are not that good.

Their headphone amps have a great rep. Burson is a company whose point of view re op amps is, essentially, "Op amps suck." These seem like kludges to me and my take is if you agree with Burson's philosophy, it may be better to switch to different equipment than try to shoehorn these into equipment not designed to accommodate them. No info on pricing on the landing page.

Hi,

While this article relates to opamp rolling in the Eastern Electric Dac Plus it might be useful to give you information about the burson opamps:

I hope this is the information that you wanted?

I put them in my last two DAC's, and in both cases it was an amazing transformation.  Opamps have a huge affect on the sound.  These Burson's sound smooth and detailed with body.  I never liked my current DAC until the day I put the Burson's in it.

I use Dexa discrete op-amps in my EE Plus dac, and I can attest they are a big improvement over any of the several recommended IC op amps I tried, including the 49990 and 627. Well worth the $. Transformed my unit from "very good" to "aah- just right". The Bursons are a different flavor, but many attest to similar great results with them.

I am looking to warm up the sound of my DAC while keeping its dynamics, detail, air and transparency.  I currently have a pair of 0627 OA's in my AVA hybrid tube DAC.

TJHUB and Jonbee, did you find the Burson and Dexa warmer?

100% the Burson's.

What Op amps were you using before the Bursons?  I am going to replace my 0627's.

I've tried many.  LME's, those 627's, and some others.  I even still own many of them.  The real magic for me came from the Burson's.  I was happy from day one.

Thanks for the info.  It looks like Burson and Dexa are coming out with new HDAMs so I will have to wait for them to become available.

I've been wanting to try some in my MF Xdac V3. Not sure if I'd buy the Dip type or the solder type

Another chip I've been wanting to try in the Xdac V3 to replace the NE5532 duals is the OPA 2604. I've never op-amp rolled before  :|

rolling op amps is easy as long as they are not soldered in.  You just need to make sure that the op amp is compatible with your gear.  I have rolled a few OA's.  I am going to wait for the new Burson and Dexa's to come out.

Yeah that's part of the problem. I have 6 NE5532 duals that are soldered directly to the board in my Xdac V3. If I screw it up I'm out a dac. I solder good, but de-soldering not so good. If I had a back-up dac I would have already tried it.
