The tireless folks at Light Harmonic are pushing out another crowdfunding campaign, this time for the desktop version of their Geek DAC.

If you're a Geek backer you already know about this, but otherwise, this might be of interest:

There are no reviews to go on, as the portable Geek isn't in production yet. SO it's a bet.

Wow, looks like it does DSD.

Thanks for the heads-up. I'm in for 250. Ask me about it in the spring.

I'm very interested. Still not sure why they need crowdfunding though

I dunno either. Better than borrowing it from the bank?

First rule in speculation/business: Use everyone's money except your own!  :green:

I'm sure Light Harmonic has some skin in the game, but the bulk of the money needed to bring their concept/product to market is raised through crowd funding.

Brilliant!  :thumb:

Nice look to this desktop!  8)  Been searching for a dac/amp combo like this for quite some time. The Pulse has 4 inputs, optical, 2 coaxial, and USB... this is very good for those of us who haven't yet embraced computer audio. I'm a little concerned about the quality of the amp though, but with LH's pedigree I'm sure it will sound very good. The output is sufficient to drive power hungry cans (orthodynamics) and most likely to be quiet enough to drive IEM's, could be a game ender, but may not please the tube crowd.

I bought the Geek Out and took them up on the offer to buy the Pulse. Looking forward to the new year.
