Starts around 13 minutes in.
April's Fool?  It doesn't seem that way.

You should be so lucky!
New subs, who knows what else.

Hey, for tube lovers, that's going to be a potent combo if they do anything with it. Seriously.

Have to keep an eye on this. I don't listen to podcasts - can anybody summarize? I see their website says there will be something about tubes. Do they give any hints?

Yeah, Emotiva has been in negotations for quite some time and has purchased Bob Carver LLC.
Bob will remain head of R&D, manufacturing will be done in Tennessee and some of Bob's ideas will make it into Emotiva gear as well.
Looks like a line of high output subwoofers is in the cards.
Maybe we'll see some price drops on Bob's tube gear?
I know he's been working on a tube preamp so I've got my fingers crossed on that one.
The official announcement hits in a few days.

I put on The Doors "Strange Days" about 2 seconds after I heard the news.

Definitely, Strange Days.....Bob is a good egg and hope as you do, all goes well for him....I know he is a stickler for build quality and such and hope this remains and the prices come down as already hoped for....

Emotiva are sticklers for build quality too. But now you're going to pay $2900 instead of $29,000.

RClark was right about the price drops which is good news.
Manufacturing stays in the US, too.

http://bobcarver.com/press_release.asp

The retail prices of Carver’s components will decrease accordingly, sometimes dramatically: The Black Beauty monoblock power amp, originally $13,000/pair, will now cost $7999/pair; the Cherry 180 monoblock, originally $9000/pair, will cost $5999/pair; the Black Magic stereo power amplifier, originally $2500, will cost $1690. For current owners who bought through dealers, Jade Design will offer a 50% discount on the direct price for an upcoming Carver Black Velvet preamp.

A little more info if anyone is interested:
