7B ST blew speaker??
« on: 21 Dec 2013, 04:04 am »
Have a pair of 7b st monos and was hooking up a pair of PSB 6bs to see how the combo might sound. Had the BP-25 set with the volume fully counterclockwise (no volume) and the balance was turned fully counterclockwise. I turned on the RIGHT channel mono, and blew the cone of the right speaker. Cannot figure how this could happen?. anyone??

 :duh:

Sounds like DC went to the speaker - had you been using the amps and preamp before on another speaker?
