Well, I don't really WANT to sell, but too many speakers here right now (at least that's the wife's opinion).

I bought these from Rick last year at Axpona and they are in the same shape now as they were then. Boxes are intact as well.

I'll work on pix later this week.

$2600 shipped and paypal'd, or make a cash offer if you can meet at Axpona this year or pick up in Elkhart IN/Cassopolis MI.

Ported. I'll try and get some real photos.

Sealed or ported?  Some pics would be nice.

Bigbang,
How is the bass on your Tempestas?  Does your price include the stands?  Would I need a sub to go with them?  I've been talking with another Tempesta owner who said I'd probably want a sub as the bass is a little light but very defined without one.  Would you say the sound is a little tipped up toward the mids and highs?  I had VMPS RM30s which had very good bass after I did the 10" passive radiator on the side instead of the 2 smaller ones on the bottom.  I love the ribbons and the sound they produce.  I also had the VMPS RM40s with all the upgrades and they sounded awesome--but they are very large (260 lbs. each).  Could be very interested if the sound of my current speakers doesn't open up and get more air on the top end soon.  Great speaker otherwise.

Thanks for your answers, and I will be at the Chicago Axpona on Friday.  Could make the deal quite easily if you're there.

Bob,
I'm the wrong person to ask about bass with any given speaker as I use/used sub(s) with even large floor standers as I'm in the camp that it's the only way to achieve accurate bass. Flame suit on.

That being said, they have met or surpassed the lower octaves on every other monitor I've had in the house and compete pretty well with Salk SS7's I have right now. However, read my 1st sentence!  :)

I was/am a VMPS ribbon and Carver fan and the T's are smooth and definitely not tipped up in the upper mids or highs.

In fact, I won't be disappointed if I don't sell them!

If you are somewhat local, you're welcome to come give them a listen, even if you have no intention of purchasing mine.

You are 130 miles from my house in Plainfield, Il.  I listened to the Tempestas on You Tube doing 3 different cuts.  All sound like what I'm looking for in an easy to move speaker that has it all--clarity, dynamics, voices so transparent and airy.  And that is the impression while listening on my sad little speakers attached to the computer (3" x 4").  You can still hear some of the transparency to the sound.  It must be spectacular listening to the actual speakers.  What subs do you use with them?  The sound reminds me of the VMPS RM30s only it might be even nicer.  Are you selling the stands with the speakers?  What height does Rick recommend for them?  I'm 6' 6" so I might need taller stands.  I take it that you have the standard Tempestas that go for just under $3300 with no upgrades.  If I don't go towards Selah, I'm definitely heading towards Vapor Audio.  They use similar drivers.  Ryan has quite a few speakers in his line that appeal to me.  After talking to jonbee on Audio Circle, he's had both the RM30s and the Tempestas.  He gave me quite a good comparison of the two.  He favors the Tempestas and also uses a sub.  Man, I'd like to find a VMPS sub to go with them, if I pull the string and buy yours.  It sounds as though a sub is not total dire necessity, however.

Later,
Bob

I'm off work tomorrow (Friday).  Do you have any time on Friday or Saturday for me to come and listen?  It would take me about 2 1/2 hours each way, but could prevent me from making another mistake.  More importantly, it might be the perfect speaker for me.

Thanks, Bob

Hi Bob,

I'm very familiar with accuton drivers which are absolutely the best that I've heard and matched with the raal ribbon tweeters and scan speaker drivers it should be a good combination.  I have a pair of speakers that use seas drivers and they are very good but I really do envy people who have speakers that utilise accuton drivers.  Being on 130 miles away its a no brainer to check out the speakers first hand for a listen.

Good luck.

Do you have a time in mind that's good for you?  Most of my family is on vacation this week to Hawaii.  So I'm good except Sunday.
