Sumiko Blackbird 0 hour rebuild Price Reduction

Sumiko Blackbird, one of the great buys in the analog world. This is a 0 hour refurbishment from Andy at the Needle Clinic. I received this cartridge with a skewed cantilever. I sent it off to Andy for a full rebuild, and it received a new line contact stylus, a suspension adjustment, and a cleaning and alignment. This is essentially a new cartridge at this point. As suggested by another AC member, the cantilever is now functionally perfect/replaced....which it is.

MSRP $1100
This One $700 $600

This cartridge was intended to go on another table, but my analog plans have changed. So I am offering it up for sale.

Comes in a Sumiko wooden box, but does not come with mounting hardware or literature.

Shipping will be USPS with tracking and signature.

Paypal users please add 3.5% to cover their fees.

Perhaps if you explicitly state something like, "the cantilever is now functionally perfect/replaced (if either is true)" with zero defect. That was the first thing that occurred to me. GLWS.

Last night I mounted this one up just to do a quick check and verify the cartridge. PLayed two albums on it.  My other two cartridges are a ZYX 4D and a Clearaudio Signature that Andy redid for me also. The Blackbird equalled the ZYX in several areas, and was not far behind in the others. This does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling, as the ZYX is a $4200 cartridge. Then add to the fact that the Blackbird is high output and requires no additional step up to perform properly. Also is quiet in the groove, and a very nice tracker.

Partial trades are an option, if they are interesting.

Wish I had the cash. Andy does a great Job and John is a great seller and really stands behind his sales. John is an all around good guy with an emphasis on honesty.

Mr Pig,
Could you please tell me how to get a hold of Andy at the Needle Clinic? I can't find him on Google. I get my retips at SoundSmith and would like to let Andy do his thing to one of my cartridges.
Thanks a million, Nut
