This is a class D amplifier based on technology from B&O. The IcePower modules are the same as used in highly regarded amps such as Bel Canto S300 and Rowland 102. The main difference is that Wyred4Sound includes a PS-Audio designed input buffer board to increase the input impedance of the amp. The 200S is essentially identical to the PS Audio Trio A100 with some enhancements. EJ Sarmento of W4S described the improvements over A100 as follows:
"The pcb itself is identical except for the fact that we don't put any electrolytic in the signal path. We also have less gain (27 db) on our amps to better suit other equipment. We use dale rn55d resistors and eliminate capacitors on the buffer board to flatten out the frequency response and to give the amplifier a true and accurate sound."
I purchased this amp to power two bookshelf monitors in my study. It was hardly used and since I have a number of other amps, I am listing it for sale. It is in mint condition and perfect working order. It provides both balanced and single ended inputs. I have the original packaging/box, manual and power cord.
