It is with great sadness to post that my close friend Bruce (member et+kooper) passed away suddenly on Monday. Bruce was passionate about A/V gear, movies, music and the New England Patriots. Bruce was especially passionate about his new Salk Veracity STs that he received a few months ago. Bruce was so happy with his new speakers and raved about how he enjoyed dealing with Jim Salk. But his greatest passion was his lovely wife Linda and their three sons. I spent some time with Bruce at his house last Friday talking about life and listening to music. I will miss Bruce very much as he was a very good friend and all around great guy. Rock on Brother, I know you are up above listening to Avalon in 5.1 with five SS8s (his dream speaker) cranked!!!!

Even though I did not know Bruce personally, I do remember reading et+kooper's posts and found him to be an excellent Audio Circle member and a valuable member of the Salk family. I am truly sorry for his wife and children's loss. billmcc, I offer my sadness for the loss of your close friend.

I think its always much harder to accept the loss of love ones when it happens suddenly and unexpected.

I never met Bruce personally, but spent quite a bit of time on the phone with him over the past few months.  I could sense his passion where high quality audio was concerned.  And he seemed literally joyful when he spoke of his new Veracity ST's.  It is calls like his that remind us, everyday, what our mission is all about.  So word of his passing was quite a shock and very sad news indeed.

Bruce, the sound of your voice will continue to resonate in my head and will not soon be forgotten.  Rest in peace my friend.

He kept telling me how much I would love my Veracity STs before I actually got them, and he was right.

Rest in peace, Bruce.

I remember reading how he was so looking forward to his new SC center channel. I hope he had a chance to enjoy it, however briefly.  It's indeed sad to hear of the loss of one of the Salk family.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I had the opportunity of meeting Bruce. He sold me his SongTowers. He personally brought them to my house in perfect condition.
His excitement delivering the speakers to me put a smile on my face. He encourage me to put the speakers in place, set the trim levels and start listening to a few SACDs. Three hours later, a time with Bruce I'll never forget.
Bruce , you will never be forgotten and thank you for your time we shared.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Kim,

I remember that day as well. Bruce couldn't stop raving about how great your system sounded. Especially when we listened to the Duke Ellington Blues in Orbit SACD. He was amazed how your room was filled with incredible sound. But the one thing that sticks out is when we brought the SongTowers into your house. Bruce and I carefully carried one ST in like it was a newborn baby. Then you grabbed the other ST and threw it over your shoulder and just about ran up the stairs to your A/V room  :o. Bruce and I were shocked as we babied the ST up the stairs. We laughed about it later as I wish we had a picture of the look on our faces :). We were both very fortunate to have met Bruce and to have spent time with him.

My condolences to Bruce and his family.  They are in my thoughts and prayers.

Brandon,

Thanks for your thoughts. I have to say you are the one that steered me towards Salk speakers. Then I convinced Bruce to buy his STs and he was very happy that he did :).

^I'm happy to have helped in any way possible, but I'm happier simply having known Bruce,  you and all the other great people I've met through this hobby. Bruce will be missed.
