Burt Bacharach, anybody remember him?
« on: 17 Sep 2013, 03:35 pm »
Last Night while listening to Chris Botti live in Boston,  Burt Bacharach did a number with Chris and Paula Cole ( I think) and it was fantastic. I grew up listening to Beatles, Stones, etc. but I do remember Mr. Bacharach had a big influence on me.

What is your favorite Bacharach tune? There are so many by many artist, but I will start it off:

The Look of Love   Sergio Mendes & Brasil ’66      5/11/68

I can't pick just one and you've already picked one of mine.

Walk On By  (Dionne Warwick, Isaac Hayes, and Diana Krall)
This Guys in Love With You  (Herb Alpert)
Wives and Lovers (Jack Jones)

It was hard to narrow it down to those 3.  8)

Remember him???? The guy was an icon.  No one that lived through the 60's has forgotten Burt Bacharach.  Here's another great one...

All good ones.  Dionne Warwick sang several of his tunes, as I recall.

Gotta say that I also like Burt!  :thumb:

Here's a great collaboration. It really crossover two greats, two entirely different influences and two different generations.

Ask Noel Gallagher (heralded by Sir George Martin, no less, as the "most significant songwriter of his generation") who Bacharach is...  :thumb:
