Looking for feedback on the following plan. As you will see I am a neophyte at the digital sound program so my plan may not be feasible.
I am trying to break up the cost of purchasing a BDA-2 and BDP-2 and my plan is to purchase a BDA-2 first and use it with my Apple notebook as the source. I currently have a BCD-1, BP-25 and 4Bsst. My current thought is to hook up the BCD-1 to the BDA-2 so I get the advantage of the two Crystal chips for CD play. I would download a limited amount of high resolution music to my Apple notebook and only rip a limited number of cd's. To the extent it makes sense I would store these downloads and rips on a
I think I will get better download and rip quality once I acquire the BDP-2 - true?
If it will make a difference I can also purchase software for playback and downloading/ripping with the BDA-2. I am a little mystified on the use of the various software and I think there is software for downloading high resolution music, software for ripping cd's and software for having my computer talk to the hard drive via wi-fi.
My electronics is in one room and my speakers are in a separate room so I want to be able to manage selecting songs from the notebook. Is this possible? I have to live with getting up to adjust the sound but it would be nice to select different tracks or playlists by wi-fi.
If it will improve the sound I could also direct wire the computer to the BDA-2 and buy an i-pad to control things - at least I think that will work?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.
Good Listening,
Mike
