EDIT: Mitsubishi is sold.

I've got two of the finest linear trackers extant. Sudden expense require selling one of them. (I am only looking to sell one of them as I really enjoy having an automatic turntable.)

These machines represent two very different approaches to arrive at excellent sonic results.

Your choice: $650.

I have no problem shipping the Beogram, as I've shipped quite a few in the past, but I'd prefer to sell the Mitsubishi locally. It's much bulkier.

I'm in Los Angeles 90049.

First up is the Mitsubishi LT-30. This is a very rare turntable, AFIK the best turntable Mitsu offered in the USA. It's big and heavy and handsome and direct drive. (About the size of a VPI Classic.) From what I understand it compares very favorably to the Yamaha PX-2, and looks a whole lot better. Only downside is that because of the optical manner in which the turntable reads disc size, the automatic functions don't work on clear vinyl or very light translucent vinyl.

Turntable is in excellent shape. There "rosewood" vinyl is peeling at one corner. This blemish is very small. (I will try to get a pic up soon.) Cartridge is a Grado G2. Dust cover is good, with the inevitable small swirl marks from cleaning and the cat. (This gear does NOT come from a pet-free home :D)

Rumor has it that this particular table belonged to one VERY well known celebrity--I have no proof of course, but it will make a good story for the eventual buyer.

Second turntable is Bang & Olufsen Beogram 8002. This is arguably the finest turntable B&O ever produced. This machine is in exceptional condition. It's "tangential drive," which is a direct-drive system quite different from the Japanese efforts. (More info can be found at Beocentral.) This was the company's last effort at producing state-of-the-art analog, and the build quality reflects this. Slim as it may be, the table weighs over 20 pounds. Later B&O tables are flyweights.

It was serviced by AK B&O guru Tinman, who told me that given the condition of the table and insanely smooth bearing, I'd be crazy to sell it. It comes with an MMC3 cartridge. Not only is this a fully automatic plug and play deck, but it's programmable: You can set it to repeat a side up to 10 times in a row. Also remote-controllable if you have the matching Beomaster receiver.
