Gr research n3

Hi there,

Just want an opinion on GR research N3 - bought a pair of these locally in UK for £100 ($150)  :icon_twisted: - they all build according to specs and have upgraded Sonicaps. Just want to ask if soemone can compare them to some more commercial products available - had monitor audio gr20, gs20 - heard platinum series, also b&w 683. Just want to have idea, how good they are. I know they have been received very favourably, but never heard them and they are really rare in uk.

Thanks

Danny Richie

That's quite the steal you have there. Just the shipping cost on the kit to you would be almost that much.

You're in for a treat.

Hi,

I am picking them up tomorrow amd cannot wait to be fair. Read through the forums for as much as I could in last 3 days and getting quite excited. There is literally no info about a lot of US stuff here in the uk, which is shame. Good thing is if there is something unknown on ebay it goes really cheap :-) will report my findings as had quite a lot of commercialy available speakers before so will be able to compare it myself.

Thanks

I loved mine and my  folks love them now  :)    The Neo 3 PDR tweeter with the deep backs is wonderful.   It is  very  deailed and clean  but  you can listen to them  forever  and they don't become fatiquing at all.   You'll also get surprising    bass response from the pair of  M130's in each speaker.  Try and keep them  out from the wall  18"

I had the upgraded cross overs in mine as well (sonicaps /mils) and they are  just   great  sounding speaker.
Great value  and at the price you  stole them for     ,  what a deal

Enjoy    :thumb:

Hi there.

The pair I am picking is front ported, so should be ok-ish with closer placement, but will try to experiment and find best position.

And they are home :-)

Only took me 10 hours drive in heat and missing Wimbledon final, but it does not really matter.

Little break and then first impressions.
