Hello

How can we do a analog signal generator to generate jitter test signal ?

I have a M-Audio Transit usb soundcard, it can do 24 bit 96 khz recording but one way only and no duplex. I want to do some mods and I want to measure the jitter before and after my mods. So I need an analog jtest signal to fed the input of my Transit usb card.

Thank

Bye

As far as I know there's no simple way to measure jitter using normal audio tools like Sound Forge or Audacity etc. Serious professionals use analyzers such those made by Audio Precision:

I'll also mention that jitter is a total non-issue. Jitter is typically 120 dB below the music, which in turn is more than 20 dB below the noise floor of CD quality audio. Did you ever hear the hiss on a CD? Neither did I. Jitter is much softer than that!
