as the title says, has anybody here had the chance to do a side by side compairison of these two preamps. How well did the phono stage sound as compaired to some of the units out there right now? Plus does it have one tape input or two tape inputs?

thanks in advance

By FAR  the best combo is the Candela with out new Suspiro phono stage.  You're now talking true ultra high end performance all around.
The Suspiro is new,  we're finally shipping,  and will have several ps upgrade options down the road....you'll hear tons about it in the future...how can I say this ??? It is the single best phono stage that I have had in my own system,  EVER !!!!!  (and I had a few../ dozens)

All,

Klaus delivered a Kismet system to me about a year ago.  Kismet mono blocks, Candela, Kismet reference speakers, and the Kismet phono pre-amp.  About six months after the system was delivered, Klaus offered to swap out the Kismet phono pre-amp with a pre-production unit of the Suspiro.  Now I haven’t had as many phono pre-amps as Klaus, but I can tell you the new Suspiro is excellent, and in my opinion significantly better than the Kismet phono pre-amp.  There is noticeably better clarity and articulation with the Suspiro than was present in the Kismet (and don’t get me wrong, the Kismet was good)!  Bang for buck, the Suspiro is an excellent buy and a great phono pre-amp.
