Bryston BHA-1D?

Hi James,

I was cutting the grass yesterday thinking about HiFi as you do  and I was wondering if Bryston has any plans to introduce a BHA-1 with a built in DAC?

This seems to be a very popular idea at the moment with the excellent new Naim DAC-V1 and the imminent Sennheiser headphone amp that comes as an analogue or digital version.

Since starting HiFi Lounge the BHA-1 has been my most popular product but in the UK building a dedicated Bryston headphone rig comprising of a BHA-1/BDA-2 & BDP-1 is a serious investment of around  £6000 + headphones, saying that it is worth every penny, but if Bryston could bring out a BHA-1/BDA-2 in a single chassis with asynchronous USB support and a reduced overall cost I'm sure it would be a big success as it would appeal to a bigger audience and especially for those who use their computers and laptops to access their music, which I'm finding out is quite a few people.

Just an idea :)

I'm hoping for a BHA-2 with a remotely controllable volume, similar to what is in the BP-17.

Of course, once that happens, we'd need a RS-232 or IR input on the back.

Here's to hoping. :)

Yes I have to admit a remote would be nice, I have both the BR2 and BR3 remotes so being able to implement one of them would be nice although I know from purely a sound quality perspective remote control volume is not recommended, hence why most top end head amps only have manual controls.

I'd almost be willing to sacrifice a tiny % for a remote option though I have to say.
