96db sensitive single driver back horn loaded, meant to be placed in corners for optimal bass frequency extension. These are really excellent performers for those getting into the hobby or those of us making second systems in the bedroom or elsewhere, wanting to play around with all the relatively inexpensive quality tube amps on the market these days, or more. Don't let their small size fool you, they can fill a pretty good sized room with quality sound. Not the ultimate in frequency extension at either extreme, but they get it done, and they have extreme coherency and really excellent imaging due to narrow cabinet and single driver design. True point source coherency that really does sound "right" on a lot of music. And they can rock if you want them to.
These are older cabinets, but I personally upgraded to the latest Fostex drivers - the 126EN, with greater frequency extension and soundstage depth/width than the 126E. I carefully sealed the driver gaskets to the cabinet with silicone, as recommended by the manufacturer, for airtight seal. It needs to be done right to preserve the horn loading and low frequency performance, and I did it right.
The finish is a nice birch ply with a basic stain finish. It's not the oak-style of later iterations, but it still looks nice to me. Has a few minor marks low on the front of the cabinet of one, but I can't see at a distance. They're in really good shape, especially for the age, and will be packed well for shipment.
Any questions, just ask. If I don't get any bites on here through the weekend, off they will go to Audiogon.
