left channel bryston

My left channel on my bryston 4b gets very hot,switched amp to 2 b and left channel gets hot ,could this be the left speaker psb stratus gold,I did notice a wood burning smell coming from the speaker, is it possible for a blwn speaker cause the amp to over heat
thx any advice would be greatly appreciated

Switch the suspected bad speaker over to the right channel and see if the problem follows it. If not, the amp likely requires an adjustment to its bias.

If the problem moves with the speaker, then the speaker is the culprit, and in light of the fact that you noticed a bad smell, it's a good guess.

The speaker may have a problem with one of the drivers or its crossover.

You could use a meter and check and compare the resistance of the speaker against the other speaker.

thx for info definitely the speaker,PSB will fix it for me but out of warranty could be around 600, not sure if it is worth it
