Makes me wanna take up bird watching.
Photographing birds is difficult. For me, it's really only a "right place at the right time" kinda thing. So I mostly don't do it. Typically, there are branches in the way, and it's hard to get close enough for a reasonable shot. The lens I used here is 300mm on DX so effectively 450mm. I
think that's about the minimum.
After showing the first shot to a neighbour they told me that they have a pair of
Powerful Owls that nest in a tree in their backyard. WHAT?! I've heard them plenty of times but never knew what they were. They come here in winter so I'll be bugging them for info/sightings/caniclimbonyourroof
