Two systems, one set of Subs
« on: 22 Mar 2013, 07:05 pm »
Ok,

I don't know if i can do this right or if I just have to bite the bullet.  I am regulated to my man cave that has turned in to a kids cave with inwalls all around and two subs.  I would like to use the subs for the time being on both my 2 channel system and their theater.

Can I, without causing issues, hook up my subs to the Integra 40.2 and my Dodd Preamp?

Please advise... I'm guessing I will have ground loop issues or other>>...

Are your subs self-powered ? and do they use RCA interconnects for signal input?
Do you want them to play both systems together all the time? (this could get exciting)
Or do you want to have a switch between inputs?

I would guess it depends on the sub. Rythmik has an amp that will allow you to hook RCA connections to a low pass input and an LFE input. If the sub sensed something from the LFE input than the LFE input would become active. Or it was something like that. If your sub doesn't have separate inputs or allow for more than one connection, how would you handle the sub feed from the Integra bypassing the sub's low pass settings while still needing the ability to set a low pass filter on the sub for your two channel system?
