Ron's bamboo and redwood burl Veracity HT2-TL's

Ron wanted something very unique.  He wanted bamboo HT2-TL's, but wanted the front baffles to be contrasting.  As we discussed the options, I ran across a bundle of redwood burl we had purchased some time ago but never got around to using.  This was the veneer we used for the front baffle on this pair.  We also used 3/4" x 3/4" pieces of bamboo flipped 90 degrees for the trim on the cabinet edges.  That resulted an a mosaic pattern framing the redwood burl.

Here are some pictures...

And a close-up...

Happy listening Ron!

Hello Salk family! Looking forward to getting these beauties installed. The way the trim is done is entirely Jim's genius and I must say it really does set the fronts off. Nice Jim - well done.

Cheers,

Ron

The wide range of Salk speakers never ceases to amaze me.  The redwood really is a beautiful contrast with the bamboo, the burl undertones play off against the lighter tones perfectly.

Ron- I know you'll be even more thrilled with these in person.  Enjoy!!

Wow - very unique, but in a good way.  I really like those!  Congrats, Ron, and if it's your first pair of Salks then welcome to the family.

Thanks and thanks for the offer  :D I think though that I'll have to decline ... after all I've not yet even seen them in the flesh, let alone heard them.

These will be my first Salks. I've never even heard Salks before - just going on pure speculation, more or less. Hope it works out. Jim got them out the door today and the shipper's delivery estimate is 5 business days so they could be hear (pun intended) by the 22nd or the 25th - assuming they do not deliver on weekends.

I cannot however take full claim/blame for the general design idea. I got the idea from the Vapour line of speakers - one of which is done in birdseye maple with redwood burl front baffle - very lovely and great photos as well.

I'll update this thread with the usual arrival and unboxing photos.

Cheers,

Ron

I have a set of HT2-TLs with matching center.  My dad has a set of songtowers in the standard curly maple finish.  All of them look MUCH better in person.

I took a chance on salks after a lot of research.  I've been extremely happy them. Only thing i'd do different if i could do it over again, would be to spend more on a dedicated 2.0 setup and get rid of my center, receiver, amp, and subs.
