First of all, as a bit of a bass junkie - WHOAH - 7 cubic foot ported 15!  I thought I had it goin on with my 4 cubic foot ported 12 and 300w...

Nextly, nice arrangement, with an interesting mixture of gear.

Lastly, why the tweeters on the outside of the arrangement - most of the time I see offset tweeters to the inside.

thanks   i highly recommend the adire audio tempest.   i don't use it with my regular listening though.   the scans have nice audiophile bass, like they're know for, deep, resolved bass.  the tempest is just when you're trying to be overwhelmed by bass.

tweeters-    i thought outside would create a larger sound.  they describe the 6000 as a very open tweeter. you're right though.  i did some searching and i see what you're saying.   i'll have to switch the speakers and compare.

The tweeters will certainly end up a matter of personal pref - my best friend listens to his with tweeters out - we built him a set of speakers last summer, with Vifa and Max Pentivent (Canadian drivers similar to Morel or Dynaudio) and he prefers the tweeters out.

In his room, mostly untreated and open, with hardwood (though a nice area rug), I have to agree that they sound more open his way - either way they are great, but it was a revelation to me to hear my Totems in that room.

Now if I could only transplant his living room to my basement!

In any case, play with the setup, and keep what works best.

Nice stuff and testimony to the vendors here.

Now, how about pulling those speakers out into the room and adding some room treatments?

ya i was at a buddies showin the gallery, and all he could talk about was the girl in the avatar.     that's cool.  it's this girl i knew for awhile.  that was a good pic.  it was before i had any digital camera.  now i kinda feel like puttin a speaker or pre there.   i don't like changing avatars though.  never have.  lost one when a DSS Hackers website went down.  but that's it.

room treatments-  i got the bit of 2" polyurethane foam from soundsuckers.com      should i get more of the same or somethin different?
