VR - 6 Secs
« on: 4 Feb 2013, 08:44 pm »
Hi there,
I am new in this forum. Seduced by many reviews I purchased a pair of second hand VR-6. Even the shipping costs from US to Europe and the customs formalities didn't stop me to live my dream. Waiting for the delivery. Does anybody of you, guys, have a Manual? Or at least a link to the specs? I saw the specs once on Internet but I was not able to save it. Now the page doesn't show any longer. Google is not displaying it anymore. Will appreciate any help.
Greetings from Bulgaria

Hi ES,
I addressed already VSA. The very next day I received a reply from Damon VS, but unfortunately they don't have any documents about VR-6 because everything has been destroyed by the flood. The only option I have is the help by the community.

Hello Fellow Audiophile!  Congratulations on your purchase of our VR-6 speaker system.  Even though I designed this model over 15 years ago, I remember all of the specifications.  Of course, I can also refer to my old catalog that I found in a bookcase in my home library.... I can rewrite the Owners Manual for you, send me an email to albert@vonschweikert.com and I'll give you the information within a few days.
Happy Listening!

(Dear Sir,) Albert,
It may sound like a cliche, but this may serve as a role model for the companies in this sector. My e-mail is nikmilkov@abv.bg. Thank you in advance. N. Milkov

At some point in the past year, the webpages on the older VSA models (VR-4, VR-2100, etc) disappeared. It would be great if they could be put back up somewhere so that those of us who own them (or might be selling them to upgrade to other VSA speakers) can refer to them.

You might try looking in http://www.hifiengine.com .  That site has all kinds of owners/service manuals you can print.

Nikolay,
I'm using a pair of VR-6 speakers and am amazed at how great they can sound.  Like so many of Albert's designs, they benefit from the best upstream components, down to the speaker cables, interconnects, and power cords.  Readers will not be surprised that I recommend you try the MasterBuilt cables, even the Standard series (contact VSA for info).  Though the VR-6 speakers will illuminate any weaknesses in your components, they also have the potential to be the foundation of a really amazing system.  You've got a gem of speaker system, enjoy!
