A new chum here- you can tell by my pensive manner. See my system description for more clues. I'll try my best not to ask any questions that require you to reply with "Do a search....." I've been lurking around Audio Circle for so long that I feel I know many of you personally. In fact this is true to the extent that I have met AKSA and TINKER. I live 20 minutes away from Aspen Towers and security just waves me through now that I am a proud AKSA 55 N+ and AKSonics owner.Don't bother about asking me technical questions though - I managed to con Hugh into building the AKSA 55 for me during his coffee breaks.Fortunately he seems to drink coffee almost non-stop so it didn't take as long as I thought. We call it Hugh's "Signature Edition" and he has put a cross on one of the toroids to confirm it. I also managed to con Ron into cutting the cabinets for my AKSonics which has resulted in the top-firing port actually ending up on the top.
The AKSA has been the missing link in my system and together with the AKSonics they have opened up the window on my front -end. It all combines to produce wonderful music. The AKSA replaces an ME850 power amp rated at 120wattsRMS yet it trounces the ME in every area -quite astonishing.The combination of the AKSonics with my sub seems to be a marriage made in heaven.A GK1 is the next coffee break project for El Dean.
